Eco-Chic Living

Spring Valley, Washington, D.C.

This Spring Valley interior designer project started as an exterior refresh of a traditional home in the Spring Valley neighborhood of Washington, D.C., and became an entire house renovation.

For this project, our client wanted to blend elements of eco-friendly sustainability with comfortable modern living. Working very closely with our client throughout the entire design process, we opted for an eco-chic style. This design style blends natural materials, sustainable design solutions, and unique nature-inspired details.

We started the project by refinishing the existing floors throughout the entire home. We sourced furniture and accessories from local antique shops and used grass cloth and raffia elements to bring in a touch of nature. We also focused on bringing natural light into the home. Finally, we added a mudroom to increase the house’s functionality with a growing family.

After completing the home’s main floor, we turned to designing unique spaces for the client’s three growing children. Finally, we updated the home’s outdoor living space by installing a pergola and furnishing the area with new outdoor furniture.
