Historic Rowhouse Renovation
Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
What do you get when you take a historic rowhouse in the nation’s capital and give it an extensive renovation? A nominee for HGTV’s Designer of the Year!
We worked with the architect and builder each step of the way through this whole-house renovation. Since no one had cared for the house for many years, it needed extensive structural work, including excavating and digging out additional space in the basement. The kitchen was an addition to the home, allowing us to create a clean-lined space and maximize functionality. We combined white and walnut slab-front cabinets to add warmer tones to this section of the home.
The first-floor living room, in the original portion of the home, combines all of the elements of old and new in the house. The room is elegant and sophisticated yet approachable. The cozy family room is flooded with natural light from a large skylight and a wall of windows overlooking the private garden.

Throughout the second floor, traditional style meets luxury living. The welcoming bedroom is full of conventional style references but includes smart art that converts into a TV and remote-controlled fireplace. The generous primary bathroom features a stone fireplace and a gently-curving soaking tub.
