Creating a Family Home

Imagine creating a home for a growing family over Facetime in only five months! That is exactly what we did with our clients based 3,000 miles away.
For this project, we helped the family of a professional athlete create their dream home in suburban DC. After seeing only two houses, our clients chose a lovely home that we customized to their tastes.
The project started with a new paint color for the home’s exterior. Indoors, we gutted the kitchen and bathrooms and reconfigured the primary bedroom. Since the floors were in good shape, we were able to refinish and re-stain them.

During our only in-person meeting, we selected the tile and furniture. Since this is a family home, we carefully chose family-friendly pieces. We kept all the major upholstered pieces neutral, from sofas to armchairs to custom rugs. We added different textures and pops of color with accessories. The window treatments in the living areas were kept light and airy to help bring in natural light.
