Stylish Living & Entertaining in Kalorama
Kalorama, DC
When our clients moved from out of town to Washington, D.C., they chose a five-floor townhome in the sought-after neighborhood of Kalorama. Known for its restaurants, cafes, and shops, Kalaroma offered the perfect blend of city living and residential tranquility they were looking for.
Before moving in, we gave our client’s home a major facelift to reflect their style and needs. We did not make any structural changes in this project. Instead, the renovation focused on enhancing the home’s aesthetic appeal and creating an environment where they could entertain friends and family.
Drawing inspiration from a sophisticated palette of lavender, plum, and cream, the house exudes elegance and warmth. Whether it’s a striking piece of detailed furniture, such as the white sofas with wood detail in the living room, or the fun floral curtains in the kitchen nook, we used color and pattern to create a cohesive flow throughout the home. From the bright and airy kitchen to the primary suite with moody touches of plum, each room has its own focal point. Despite these individual statements, the overall design ensures a harmonious transition from one room to the next.

The homeowners, with their three grown sons, love to entertain. This home is designed to accommodate formal gatherings and more intimate family get-togethers. The custom-designed bar in the living room is the perfect example of incorporating functionality into the overall design. We used whimsical touches such as unique wallpaper, patterned draperies, and eye-catching lighting to make this home user-friendly and stylish. French doors lead to a private garden at the rear of the home, providing a perfect spot for outdoor relaxation and play.
Our clients’ home in Kalorama is a testament to their love for sophisticated design and urban living.
