Tucked away in the Palisades neighborhood of Washington, D.C., is the rustic Italian restaurant Lupo Verde Osteria. For this project, we were asked to create warm, comfortable, and elegant spaces where the restaurant’s patrons could enjoy a delicious meal and warm hospitality. The project included designing several rooms, including a bar, public dining spaces, and a private dining room. We used natural woods, leather, soft velvet, and soft, warm lighting to create a cohesive feel throughout.
On the first floor of the converted row house is a bar, designed to be a comfortable spot for guests to linger and enjoy drinks and/or a full meal. This is achieved through several design elements, such as bar stools upholstered in warm brown leather and overhead pendant lighting that gives off a soft, diffused light. The wall for the bar back is a subway tile with a brick texture, painted white to give the space an airy feel.
