The Installation Process

You have worked your way through the initial preparation and planning stages for your design project. Fabrics, furniture, and fixtures have been chosen and ordered. Now it is time for those items to be installed. How does this process work? In what order do we install window treatments, rugs, and furniture in your home? This article discusses the behind the scenes details of the installation process.

Shipping & Delivery

Once all orders for the design project for your home are placed, the TMD team tracks and schedules shipping and delivery of all products directly to our climate-controlled warehouse. Once items are received, we inspect each product for damage or defects. Though it rarely happens, if we find a product to be less than perfect we rectify the situation immediately.

Secure Storage

All products that are part of your design plan will be held in our warehouse until each and every piece has arrived. When all the products are received, final delivery and installation dates are scheduled. The installation process generally takes a week to ten days and we like to follow the following schedule:

1. Installation of wallpaper and faux finishes.
2. Hanging of draperies and other window treatments (3 to 4 days).
3. Laying of rugs (1 to 2 days).
4. Positioning of furniture and accessories (2 to 3 days).

Completing the Project

The TMD design team will meet on site and coordinate all aspects of the installation and completion of the project. We are also able to recommend companies to provide move-in assistance, such as unpacking and organizing at your home.
